Looking thinner in photos is all about posing, angles, lighting, and outfit choices. Here’s a few tips to help you look your best (and slimmest!) in photos.
🔥 Posing Tips
Angle your body – Turn slightly to the side (about 45°) instead of facing the camera head-on.
Shift your weight – Put your weight on your back leg, and let the front leg bend slightly.
Create space – Don’t press your arms against your body; keep a little gap to avoid arm squish.
Hand on hip – Classic for a reason—it defines the waist and adds shape.
Chin forward and slightly down – Helps avoid double chin and defines the jawline.
Elongate your neck and spine – Stand tall, like there’s a string pulling you up from your head.
👗 What to Wear to look thinner in photos?
Darker colors – Black, navy, deep green = slimming effect.
Monochrome outfits – One color from head to toe helps elongate the body.
Vertical lines & patterns – These draw the eye up and down, not side to side.
Tailored fits – Baggy clothes can actually make you look bigger in photos.
Shapewear or structured underlayers – Smooth things out under tighter clothes.
💡 Lighting & Camera Tips
1. Good lighting is very important– Natural light is your BFF; face toward a window for soft,
flattering light.
3. Slightly above eye-level camera angle – Slims the face and elongates the body.
4. Use portrait mode or blur background – Keeps focus on you and adds a professional vibe.
Practice in the mirror or take test shots. You’ll find your best angles with a bit of trial and error.
